Héctor Rodríguez: The Next Big Thing?
Last year, the Cincinnati Reds faced a tough decision when choosing a hitter to join their big league roster. Two talented prospects, Sal Stewart and Héctor Rodríguez, were in the running. While Stewart ultimately got the nod, Rodríguez's potential couldn't be ignored.
"He played exceptionally well," said Nick Krall. "But due to roster constraints, we had to go with Stewart for positional reasons. Rodríguez's time will come, and we're eager to see his impact."

His teammates rave about his hitting ability. "He's a bad ball hitter, a gift from God," Rodríguez says modestly. His power and bat speed are unmatched, and his strikeout rate is incredibly low. "He can hit anything," said teammate Rece Hinds. "It's incredible."
But it's not just about hitting. Rodríguez has been working on his outfield defense, and the results are promising. "He's improved," said Terry Francona. "He's putting in the work, and it shows."
As the Reds look to bolster their offense, Rodríguez's name keeps coming up. With his talent and work ethic, he's poised to make a splash.
"People better watch out when he comes through," Stewart warns.
